Got a Jeep as my new DD!
#1
Picked up this 2001 Jeep. It got three tops and cargo netting on the roll bars. I didn't know it had rock slides on it but I think they add to the looks of the Jeep. It's going to be my new DD so the TA can go to weekend race duty! I'm not sure if I like the white letter facing out or not. I'm also thinking about getting some Rubicon wheels and putting on it. What do you guys think? You can see my Z71 in one of the pics also.

I just got home from picking it up in ATL and I'm beat down! The traffic was horrible. Three wrecks and two contruction zones it was a 6 hour round trip when it should have been 4 hours. The Jeeps ride pretty good the tire have some roar but I guess that is to be expected. The hard top is nice and quiet other than the roar from the tires. The damn thing has a factory sub and polk audio speakers in it. I did notice that the throw out bearing is making a little noise but I can take care of that later.

I just got a build sheet on my Jeep from the factory. I was shocked to see that I had a Dana 44 rear axle from the factory. It also had a 117 amp alt., a 600 amp battery, and a 3550 tranny. I guess now all I need is a Dana 44 front axle and I'm running 35's. Well after it gets a lift kit.

The Saharas come with a 44 out back and a 30 up front. I would recommend a Rubicon Express 3.5 SF lift and some Truxis MTs all around..guess Im a bit bias but Ive been wheelin the Chit out of my rig and tackle things that most wont!
35's on an OE 30 will certainly break things...but as I like to think about it..If it breaks build it better!
Up grades are what we all need!!

I've looked at some TJ's here lately myself. What i'm wanting to do is drop in a gen3 motor in a 5 speed jeep. Holding off for now. I have to get some other projects finished up first.
