Lts are better for torque and hp gain in the normal rpm range. Mid length or shortys are better for the high rpm range and/or ease of installation along with better ground clearance.

 

i have the cherrybomb extreme its awesome ! you should get a magnaflow cat they make a good diffrence in exhaust also and give you some low grunt like 80 bucks , i had mienikie chop the stock off and put in the new one for like 50 bucks

good exhaust will go along way with a magnum engine. i had a 95 ram ext cab with 5.9 and 3.55s, bone stock it ran 16.4ish...ran true duals dumped before the rearend, with no cats, and took the airbox off at the track, resulting in a 15.9, not to bad of a gain considering what i did, good luck

 

Honestly, a mid mileage 360 would be worth it, it's a bolt in and instant power. I swapped a 360 in place of a 318 in a 72 Charger years back and made it a noticeable difference.

 

Mopar also has a factory upgrade PCM for at least the 5.9 trucks, dunno about the 5.2's.
