If you want that much HP, your gonna need more than a box and exhaust. Injectors and a large turbo will get you to the 430hp mark alone, then put a TST module on top of it and you'll be making about 525hp.. I would stay away from Banks however.. They're R&D has gone downhill.. If you go with BullyDog, go with their Triple Dog downloader, 230hp is awesome for a tuner...

Don't mess with the turbo silencer ring. I went through that on my 04.5. If you look at the turbo inlet, the ring performs not only a quieting effect, but it also acts sort of like a velocity stack to aid effiency. I put mine back in after two tanks of less mpg. You also might be tempted to remove the baffles in the intake elbow. They are there to keep the airflow laminar in addition to making it more quiet. Remove the baffles and it will "roll" the air going into the turbo. Look at those "widgets" that companies are making that are basically a honeycomb grid that installs right before the turbo in order to straighten the airflow. If they left the stock baffles in, they wouldn't need the darn thing. It's about as useful as the "turbonator"...

If you buy a TST or BullyDog, make sure you get an exhaust pyrometer. No excuses not to. 1000 + lb-ft = tranny work on the auto too. I hope you got lots of $$$

Silencer ring mod doesnt work on the CR cummins, it'll just make it louder. The TST module is the best for CR's, keeps injectiopn pressure low, so it wont damage injectors and has the hardest hit of power out of any box.. Just make sure you're tailgaters are whereing gas masks..

A box, take your pick. A good straight through muffler or none at all, an intake, and some injectors would get you close. A bigger turbo would seal the deal and make it much less peaky, and keep the EGT's ALOT lower. Ive got a stock exhaust (factory 4") no muffler, a Volant intake, and a Dr Performance chip. I put down 383hp and 949tq. With the small turbo its just a bragging number really, not really usable. It will get on down the road in a hurry and will also get HOT in a hurry (EGT hot). With some injectors and a bigger turbo this truck would be a towing/running machine (more so then it is now). Dont get me wrong, I have had 3 Duramax trucks, and those suckers will run! They will also get HOT, not EGT hot, coolant hot, overheat HOT. My Cummins stays cool no matter what is behind it, no matter what the temp out side is. It is a GREAT work truck! It get 20.3 mpg around town also. Not opening a GM,Dodge debate, I hate Dodge! The Cummins is a great proven powerplant!
