Just got an '84 C10...maybe 6.0 swap candidate

Yeah the 4L80E is no doubt the better way to go; I thought maybe you had a preference for the 4L60E and you could make it work with your lower weight. The 4L80E will be a nice addition to your setup; start searching for as much information as possible before you begin.

It shouldn't be too difficult once you track down the trans; in the last couple days I've found a GMT400 1500 4x4 and a GMT900 1500 AWD each with a 4L80E swap. If those guys can do it, you can.

I'm pretty sure the mounting to the th350 is the same as I said for the 4L60e; a converter designed for the 4L80e on the front and the th350 in the back. I could be wrong though; it isn't something I've investigated a whole lot. I can tell you it is doable, as well as inform you that the old-school equivalent of the 4L80E is the th400, if you're looking for some more beef on the cheap.

Left my Cummins 3500 on all weekend while trying to reprogram it with my Smarty. Both batteries were pretty much DOA. My C10 could not do it alone

so I called in back up..lol Two sets of jumper cables and presto
