Default Dad's 95 TBI to LSx swap

My dad and mom have a 95 C1500 ext cab 2wd with almost 170K on it. It gets poor mpg's and doesn't have good power. Truck is 100% rust free and sharp as could be.

Today he pulled the trigger on a 5.3/4L60E out of a 2005 Silverado. 27K miles on it, complete MAF to tail shaft, harness PCM, gas pedal etc..

I have been doing a lot of milling about on the web, looking for info on an LSx swap into a 95 Silverado.

From what I know and have found, the 95 is set up for the most part, intigrating the harness should be fairly straight forward.

Does anyone know of info on the drive by wire part? Any scematics or pin outs would be very helpful.

Look for photo's of the truck soon, We'll be picking up the LSx goodness some time next week. It gets to live in my garage till we are ready to swap. I might sleep beside it.

good looking truck. Ill be waiting on responses too, cause I'm doing a similar swap. Tell your dad to if he hasn't bought the motor already to buy a 6.0 instead of 5.3

I wish! I had enough of a hard time talking him into a 5.3 instead of a 4.8L!!

Great looking truck to start with. It'll make a nice combo. I'm looking forward to seeing the completion.

By the way, how's your truck doing?

The 79 is doing quite well actually! It is waiting for me in the garage, need to finish up some rear end work.

on the 88-98 body trucks. What have you seen used for motor mount adapters? can I use these with no issues? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...?part=TRD-4572

From the looks of those who have documented, it looks like I can use this style instead of a 1" off set, to put the trans in the stock location to use the old driveshaft and what not.

We picked up the engine/trans yesterday. Not to dirty, a little simple green and the power washer, and we'll be set.
