Default New 90MM 8.1L Intake Manifold

We're just finishing up the design phase for the new 90mm cool gap cast manifold, figured you all might like to see it.

With this manifold, you will be able to switch to a LS2 90mm throttle body / LS truck 90mm throttle body depending on your existing connector. In addition to the larger throttle body, we've improved air flow with better runner design and a larger plenum.

We're looking into a solution for the 102mm throttle body. We're probably going to make the flange for the 90mm but with enough material to be cut for the 102mm.

Downsides: the 102mm fly by wire throttle body ($575) will require the adapter harness (another $50) to make it work with your stock wiring. Also, if you're going to a jump to a 102mm throttle body, you might as well buy a 100mm MAF as well (adds another $270).

Basically, 90mm throttle body - cheap and easy part to come by. The 102mm throttle body modification will add just under $900 to your build.

I love it...what we really need is a lower base manifold to bolt a 4.0l Whipple on top like the ones they make for the new camaro. I had been planning forever to cut up a stock manifold and build it just haven't had the time

another option is a 4 inch pipe and an ls7 slot maf. What I used on my truck. I also went drive by cable. what kind of price on intake and when will you have a working prototype love to do some dyno compariosn on a stock engine and maybe even a souped up engine.

Now that is a good call, cheap too. We'll probably be doing the LS7 MAF on the 540 Suburban when we switch to the larger manifold.

We have no idea what the price will be yet but the idea behind the cast manifold is to bring the cost down and improve air delivery. (The Cool Gap manifold is TIG welded by hand and takes several man hours to complete.)

That looks badass. The stock manifold looks like an afterthought on these 8.1s lol.

Oh yes, I had probably 20 hours into my custom intake easily. materials where cheap... just tons of time
