Default NEED SUGGESTIONS For MODS

Well, i have my dealer searching for a crew cab 2500 4x4 Duramax. I need some advice on mods cuz FIRST Thing I am going to get a programmer, exhaust, CAI and Wheels/Tires. SO what do you suggest?? IVE heard Good about the PPE programmer, but what about the Edge/juice/Attitude. Where can i get a reasonably price 5'' Exhaust with cat delete pipe and no muffler? What do you guys like for cold air intakes? I want to do it once and do it right. Thanks for the replys-Tim

Forget all of those first and get yourself a Boost guage and EGT Guage. That is your most important first mod. Then I'd get a programmer and Exhaust. If your dealer is finding a LBZ duramax the stock intake is just as good as any CAI out there so don't even worry about that.

They are looking for a left over 06 but im might just buy an 07 if i cant find one, Im getting impatient!! I know how important the gauges are coming from a turbo gas engine. What is the scale for EGT's ? what is stock boost set at and what is the safe limit for a stock LBZ?

That was the case for me. I wanted an 06' but they could never located the one I wanted. I didnt want bose or leather etc which is all that was left so I just bought a 07 Classic.

i think it varies some but most turbo applications use the wastegate to control boost ( which you more than likely already know from the sts) but i think the duramax turbo has an internal wastegate
