Well, I haven't updated this thread in a LOOONG time!
Tow mirrors are on, with the LED's wired to the park lamps & turn signals. Airbags, compressor, and gauge are installed, and some new 33x12.50R18/E Toyo MT's are on. I'm digging it!

If you have access to a good scan tool, moniter actual fuel rail pressure against desired fuel rail pressure while test driving. They should follow each other closely. Then go WOT to 70 mph and watch for the same thing. If it can't hold rail pressure, it may need a CP3 or injectors.
Other things that I'd look at are the water pump, trans cooler lines, any drivetrain leaks, all u-joints, and check the front end too. Also look for serious rust or pitting on the rotors machined faces, and see if the transmission fluid is clean or smells burned. All the typical stuff that you'd check on a half ton gasser.
Repairs on diesels cost quite a bit more than gassers. Being able & willing to do the labor yourself will save you a ton, but the parts are more expensive by a healthy margin. If it's had a tuner of some type on it previously, check the transmission as thoroughly as you can. It's pretty easy to hurt a stock Allison with only a tune.
