The Escalade handles are a nice touch. Its tricky doing any sort of color matching on a white vehicle because its so easy to make it look cheesy. A solid white handle would really bother me but the white bezel and chrome handle works nice and I like the white bezel white handle for the tailgate better then if it had chrome back there.

My idea on the grill is to repaint the white portion since its peeling and paint the chrome portion white as well and get a chrome or polished bowtie. I don't really care for the black mirrors but I think anymore white and it would be too much. I really hate white but the truck was in the money and in really good condition for 280,000 miles.

Well, I've spent a little bit of time on her recently, and a few bucks too. She now has a full sound system and Escalade handles (inside & outside), compliments of my 1500.
I also added an Edge CTS Insight, Pyrometer, and EFI Live DSP5 controlled by the Insight. After a few dollars at the car wash yesterday, I was able to scrub off a couple layers of Alaskan winter.
Here's what she looks like today.

BTW, not diggin the new Photobucket format.

Next on the agenda is installing my airbag compressor & gauge/switch setup, and installing a 5th gear lockout switch. After all that, I'll pick up a set of extending tow mirrors. I remember telling myself that this one was gonna stay stock....

Nice and clean ! Great looking truck ! Wow I don't think mine came with a winter front.
So the insight controls the DSP5 huh , thru the ALDL ? That's cool.
You tuning the ol girl ?
Stock Dmaxes are good , but tuned they are the cats ***!

I didn't tune it myself. HPT doesn't have the ability to run 5 tunes, and I didn't want to buy EFI and then learn all over again. So I got Steve Schmitzer to take care of my tuning. It runs pretty good.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm starting to really like this ol truck. Last trip to Anchorage netted 21.6 mpg at 70 mph. Hope this transmission lasts.

So what's the high idle switch for? Is it just for warming up on cold snowy Alaskan days? I probably don't need one for my Man-Van do I? Gonna be doing the exhaust here in a few days, followed by the DSP5 if I can swing it.
Your truck cleans up nice!

Yeah the high idle switch helps warm the truck up in the winter but also can help cool a truck off with the ac in the summer heat. Or it can help run an onboard air compressor that is engine driven (to fill tires run tools use for air horns)
