gear suggestions
Any suggestions on a gear ratio. I have:
2004 Silverado ccsb 2500 4x4 non HD
Tvs1900
Gibson cat back
Ls9 cam
3" pulley 9/10 psi
90mm throttle body (silver)
Airaid intake box
It has 3.73s in it now with 30 inch tires. Not sure if 4.10 will make enough difference but afraid 4.56 will make it scream at 65. I just drive it for fun and pulling my bass boat but will take fishing trips where I'll have to tow for a lot of miles (maybe once a year). Just wondering if anyone tried 4.56 without going to a big tire... It's for the street and in fact I was thinking of doing a 2/4 drop. Thanks.

search around for a 4.10 rear and install it. if you dont like sell it and install 4.56's
my 2000 2500 had 4.10's the 6.0 got killed and i installed a 4.8 really woke it up especially since i had the 4.8 with a t56 in a half ton with 3.42's

I bet! The extra 1000 to 1500 pounds really puts the 2500 at a disadvantage... According to the quarter mile calculators I've seen its about a 1 second difference from 1/2 to 3/4 ton truck just from weight difference. Not to mention that some/most of that weight is rotating mass from the heavier axles, breaks, etc. In not a racer our anything, just trying to get the most out of my set up and still be somewhat practical... I'm almost leaning 4.56 just because I live in a rural area and will be driving mostly 55. I was just wanting to get some mechanical advantage back from the truck being so heavy.
