well i blew my 6.0 that came in my truck a couple weekends ago.
took it out in the mud and sucked some water in. blew the number 7 connecting rod in two pieces, and bent that crap out of number 8 which caused it to put a hole in the lower cylinder wall, in turn caused the piston to come into contact with the weight on the crankshaft. so now im in the process of getting a used 6.0 with 32k on it. i plan on putting a cam, new push rods, springs, headers, y pipe, tunned ecm, maybe polish the TB or buy a new one, electric fans, and maybe a aftermarket MAF. Let me know what you guys think. i plan on using the truck for towing my rock crawler and truck pullen.

Don't waist money on a MAF. Everything else listed is good.
The fact it isn't tuned yet is a shame but if you add the few mods you are talking about and tune it you will **** your self. Tune alone makes these trucks a whole new animal.

Here's my setup
04 Crew cab, 4wd, stock bottom LQ4, L92 heads/intake, LS9 90mm TB, 42lb injectors
comp 224/230 .581 .591 -110, Stainless Steel Works 1-7/8 LTs, dual DMH cutouts, (wifey approved)
stock cats, stock muffler 3.73s, 285s Toyo MTs . . . . .
I'm getting 15mpg doing 80 right now, and it's getting better.
I still pull a 4300lb boat on the weekends with no issues.

It's still road trip worthy. It goes on 5-6 hr trips to the valley and back.

Nice well i got friends looking for 6.0s for me with less than 50k on them for a good price. i know of one that has 32k on it and they want 1599 for it shipped to my door. so hopefully my buddy gets me something out of his connections. Cam wise idk thinking a 224 or torquer from Texas. i wana call them and see what would be best for me, its my DD so. and plus i want it to sound like it has a cam when it idles too :-D. Thanks i cant wait to for the outcome of this. theres a local puller that has a reg cab long bed 6.0 that out pulls everyone, we call him the cheater. ( hes been caught cheaten a couple times "but hes a nice guy") anyways i wana try to out pull him next year.

Call roger vinci at vinci performance, He's got a few good cam selections as well as some other accessories for the ls1 motors. Great guy to talk to. Very responsive with emails too. Tell him what you plan on doing, and he'll hook you up. I plan to put one of his "butt kicker" cams in my HD soon.
