Default Axle Ratio?

I know this sounds pretty dumb but how can you tell what your axle ratio is? I have looked in the book and everything but can't seem to figure it out. If this helps i have a 2000 5.3 2wd

stock is 3.23, 3.42, or 3.73 on 2wd adn a few 4wd came with 4.10s from factory

2500hd and 3500hd came with either 3.73 ro 4.10 from factory

most go for 3.73s or 4.10 when doing gear swaps

is this what your looking for or something else it kinda sounds like you want the ratio numbers explained

please explain a little bettter

many people on here go with 4.10s and say its their favorite mod

Look for the more common ones:
GT4=3.73
GT5=4.10 (most likely not on yours)
GU6=3.42
G80= Locking rear axle
