Default brake pads

I have a 2003 gmc sierra 4wd, it's time to do a front brake job and I was wondering what kind of pads should I run. I have a camping trailer that I tow about once a month, so I would like something that will last long and not fade under heavy braking. I read that most poeple like hawk ceramic pads but I am unsure if I should use them with stock rotors (ceramics usualy run hotter). Any Ideas
