I think if I don't have luck by the end of the month I'll get a aftermarket metal one and take my chances. It's got to go to a bodyshop for paint so if it fits poorly they can fix it and I can swipe my card with my eyes closed and never look at the bill 🤑.

I hate spending money on appearance mods and not power parts.

shoot, didn't GM contract Depo to do all of their old-model lights nowadays?
it might just be the nature of the beast having a truck that's 2 body styles old.
i just bit the bullet tonight & pulled the trigger on a new set of coil packs from rockauto. $200 more than i wanted to spend, but nobody had any for sale & i'm at least getting new Delphi models with a warranty... granted this is to get it running right again vs looking prettier (still got a ways to go on that front).

That is correct. That's what I found last time I went to purchase a set.

As for coil packs, The Junkyards are full of them... My self, I have yet to see one actually fail.

200k on mine (100k since engine swap in 09... and the engine had 103 on it when i put it in). started getting intermittent missing/hesitation for the last few weeks. logged 15-20% higher fuel trims on the passenger side, so i assumed poor spark on that side since i've already removed & cleaned all injectors. plugs looked good (only 1.5yrs old, too) & the wires metered out fine. today, i swapped bank 2 coils with a set off my car, and the truck drove normal again (using same plugs/wires).
went ahead & ordered a full set because i've got too much on my plate to deal with this again.

but OEM vs aftermarket just depends on the manufacturer. my car's hood needed a lot of work, but i've heard of others that lined up fine right out of the box.

looks so. i threw a set of square LS1s from my car on & it runs fine. granted, they've got 1/3 the mileage.

It really does suck that OEM parts are getting hard to find. Abundance of cheap quality parts was one of the reasons I got into the NBS trucks to start with.

Hope is on the horizon though I think I located a hood grille and bumper cover all OEM.

nice!

of course, as soon as i got a shipment notification on my new delphi coil packs from rockauto (vs the $83 set walmart somehow has), i drove the truck (using the old original coils)... and whaddayouknow - it drives smooth as butter now.

now i don't know what to think's wrong. i don't think the windows fix of 'unplug it & turn it back on' works for this sorta thing.
