i might be getting a 02 chevy ecsb the seller says it has a 6.0 lq9 swap but i noticed the heads were 862 is the blocked marked 6.0 in the front of the block or is it in the rear of the block .

 

well theres a 6.0 stamped on front and back...but to get to the one in the from u have to take the p/s bracket off to c,the one on the rear you have to take the tranny out...but 862s are 4.8/5.3 heads,but you can get the vin number off the motor to check if its 5.3 or 6.0

Did you ask him why he'd put 862s on an LQ9 short? You could pull the alt bracket off to see if he'd let you... but is the price of the truck higher because of the shortblock? I mean if it's the truck you want go for it, but if he didn't even add 317s to the 6.0 then what else is half assed on it?

 

i was told to raise the comp of the 03 esky lq9 short . the price is good its a trade for another truck of mine .

 

Lots of guys put 5.3 heads on 6.0 engines to bump the compression ratio.

 

If those 5.3. Heads are not worked as in ported there actually robing hp instead of making .....in other words those heads are chocking that 6.0....where's the truck from man we might know him or the truck .....do you know who ttuned it ........to be honest I've come to realize not many poeple know about raising comp ration with diffrent ls heads unless there all into forums ........so id do. A little more investigation b4 pulling the triger just my .2

 

The heads have been ported and have comp springs good. 600 lift. I was told black bear tuned it

 

It has a ls6 Cam comp springs lq9 block ported 862 heads and LT headers no cats bb tuned no stall 4l60 with servos
