Thats how i feel everytime i am there TDY for weeks but i do love Crazy Otto's they have some kick *** food. And when we are there we stay in palmdalearound the mall area and it takes about 30-40 mins to get to the hanger. Like others have said i would stay in palmdale lancaster is cool to drive throught and look at the wierdo's. And good luck that base is a nightmare and be proud your one of the few military guys still there you'll see its all civilians.

Try to find a place on the west side of Palmdale. It's still a bit of a drive to the base but you'll want to be around people that still have all of their teeth or aren't gang affiliated. There's a 1/4 mile track in Palmdale on the south-east end of town(Los Angeles County Raceway) or you can go to Willow Springs in Rosamond for road racing. Just know that everyone says that Edwards AFB is just past the middle of nowhere.
