I'm thinking about swapping my 5.3 for a 6.0 in my 2004 Silverado ext cab. Is it smog legal? What parts will I need that wont swap over from my 5.3? Any other information I might need to know.

 

If you do the swap i might be intrested in the CAI and Headers you have.


Need just about engine, harness, pcm and the rest should be plug and play with the vehicle harnes. Maybe just maybe engine mounts.

 

The only difference from the 5.3L and the 6.0L is the bore size. So everything from the 5.3L will fit and/or bolt-on to a 6.0L, plus smog wouldn't know or care ... useless you want to be precisely technically legal.
