I went to get my Tennessee carry permit this morning. You have to shoot 48 rounds, 6 rounds at a time. 9 ft, 15ft, 21ft, and 45 ft. He asked that all rounds be center mass. At the time I went back, I had been standing about 40 minutes. My right knee was bothering me. First we shot at 15, and then 21. All shots where in the red. There were a few guys having a lot of trouble hitting the target, including 2 currently serving in the ARMY. Then we shot 12 rounds at 45ft, my leg was hurting badly so I didn't even aim the gun. I just pointed it at the target and started squeezing. Brought the target back to 9ft and made sure he was dead.
Passed, no biggie.
Have to file for my background check, and I am done.

Cool beans.
Yall have a time limit?
Quick hijack, me and a buddy shot some reaction drills saturday and decided to give the ole worn out AR a try.
We ended up shootin 400rds thru it non stop and then found a mud hole to cool it off. Haha. Love a beater gun.
Notice anything different?

It is a pre-ban Beretta 92F. When the local PD changed over to Glocks, the officers were allowed to buy their Beretta's. A friend bought one, and I traded for it. When I got it, the mechanism's all felt horrible. Moving the slide felt as though it had sandpaper in it. I tore it completely down and cleaned it, covered it in a thick layer of oil and then put it back together. I wiped it down with a towel and put it up. I have gotten it out a few times and oil/wipe down over the last year. I decided I better try to shoot it before going today. So I got it out yesterday and took it apart to wipe the excess off.
I went to a friends and put 25 rounds through it. I had a very hard time with the site's. I wasn't used to them and kept hit the target very low. I even hit the metal stand that held the target and damaged it. My last full magazine (15 rounds), I put 12 through the same hole about the size of my thumb.
It is a very sweet shooting weapon. I plan to go back down to that range and give it a full effort when I am not hurting.
There is no real time limit per say. I was hurting and wanted to get the weight off my right leg. In my group, I was the first to finish firing every time.
Before we went out to 45 ft, the instructor was telling me that they recruited the last guy that shot as well as me for Metro Nashville, TN police officer. At that time, he had to spend a lot of time to help 2 individuals who could barely hit the target. My leg was toast, and I knew I had enough points to pass. I aimed for the first 45 ft round, then opened both eyes and let them fly.
They also put my to the far right against the wall. About every 3rd round, the shell would bounce off the wall and hit me on my head. During my rapid fire at 45 ft, nearly all hit me in the head.
All those shots

we qualify every year at work, timed, always from the holster position, very short time limits. We qualify with 9mm, M16, and 12 guage. Its fun and easy, and I love watching how some people have trouble with qualifying and they have been every year for 15-20 years.

I found it very humorous. While we were waiting to shoot, all the guys were talking about how they were going to do this and that, and bragging about what awesome shots they were. Then, because I had my ball cap on for my computer shop, they thought I needed advice on how to shoot. It was to the point they were making the few ladies in the group very nervous. I stood there quietly, and finally had enough. I loudly told them "I can drill the red zone with little effort, but I only need 33 of 48 inside the silhouette and have no need to impress anyone here. I suggest that every just do what they need to do and stop stressing."
One of the ladies was a friend of mine. They had her worked up to the point of her hands starting to shake, despite the fact she is a very competent shooter. No need for that.

The instructor said he taught a class of 45 last week. Not a single one had ever held a gun before. He said it was a total nightmare.
We had a lady that obviously never held a gun before today. She kept lying ang acting as though she knew about guns. It was making things hard, because she kept having to ask questions about the dumbest stuff that would have been explained to her if she was honest. We all felt sorry for her and the instructor. She was the last to qualify.

I can't verify that. However, I have held the newer version and it didn't feel the same at all. I don't know if they changed the metal it is made out of or what.
