I plan to reload eventually. I know that I can't reload the Hornady Steel match cases but that ok for now.

Where i hunt its mostly green/dark brown so it blends in well. Im sure out in the desert you need a light tan or khaki.

Anyone have any experience with BSA scopes? Looking at a BSA 8-32X44
http://www.amazon.com/BSA-8-32X44-Pa...058847&sr=1-43

I've seen mixed reviews on it. Rifle is used for distance target shooting. 500+meters

I have the BSA Platinum 8-32x44 on my H&R Ultra .223 It has been on the rifle since 2005. Rifle and scope have over 700 rounds on them. I live less than an hour away from some prime prairie dog shooting.

The last time I shot it was 10-31-11 and I'm thinking the scope has cashed out.

I don’t think it would hold up on a .308

I'm open to suggestions on what to replace it with.

Depending on budget, Im guessing since you went with a BSA youre wanting something semi-budget friendly Id go with this one
Bushnell Elite 4200 Riflescope w/Rainguard, 8-32x40mm, Matte, A/O

I was thinking this. Leupold VX-3 8.5-25x50mm Long Range Target Riflescope FREE S&H 66600, 66605, 66610. Leupold VX-3 Riflescopes, Leupold Riflescopes.
I do like that piece of glass too at less than half the price!!! Looking at 30mm scopes.

I have a bsa deer hunter 3-9x50 on my stevens 200 223. It has a small chip in the objective where it fell off the 4wheeler doin 50mph. But still goin strong with bouncing around in my toolbox every weekend.
Not something id target shoot with but it works great for blastimg amd varmint shooting.

Natchezss.com has millett TRS1 4-16x50 camo on sale for 239. And the fixed 10x for 159.
I just got one in and put it on my 223.

very nice. What is the field of view @ 100 @ X16?
If I don't get that I'm looking at a Bushnell Banner 6-24X40. I have several Bushnells and haven't had too many problems. The one that's currently on the rifle is already taking some abuse.

If you want a tough scope and don't need in the 3Xx magnification I'd go with this one
Millett 6-25X56 LRS-1 Scope (BK81007) - .1 Mil Click Illuminated Long Range Riflescope
That is probably what's going on my 17hmr
