Default My first fat girl!

My last chance to get a hog this year turned out good. My step dad had it set up perfect when I went up to north east Texas this time around. Game camera showed them coming in at 5-12pm and back at 4am. We have been watching them for a few months now, and I had no luck on recent trips back home. We setup a ground blind about 30 yards from a 33gal barrel cut in half feed troff, and covered it with cedar limbs, and let them get used to it. We had seen them come in 25-50 at a time, and I had a group come in about 10-15 large pigs. I had planned on using my sks, but had cycling issues, so I used dads rem .222 with a illusive wildlife tech xl250 green beam scope mounted light. I got in the blind about 4:30pm and they came in about 6:30 and woke me up, ha ha! I had a remote pressure switch on his gun, and turned the light on them. picked the best first shot that would setup my next shot, but only got off one shot and the light switch stopped working. I wish I had my sks or a AR, but I had fun, and have got a real nice setup for hogs. She ran about 40 yards and dropped, and I drug her back to the truck. That little .222 did the job nicely, but a semi-auto is needed. I wish I had a chance to grab a couple smaller pigs to put on the smoker at work, but one will do till next time. She is about a 280-300#er, just a guess. We dropped her off to be quarterd. I had a blast! What a rush, and best thing...No hunting license. pics...

nice indeed, I couldn't find mine last weekend. I would estimate 150-200lbs. But with the amount of hogs that the lease has that I was on, hogs never get picked up. Unless of course they are smaller, more edible.

Nice! I miss Texas for that reason! No tags! These bunch of hippies require you to get a stupid pig tag here in California! When they told me that I told them it was a horrible joke.

Thanks, I thought with the .222, I would have to track her a ways, but it was a lung shot. Most leave them up there too.
