Default kimber custom II 1911. thoughts

I have a buddy tryin to sell me his kimber customII 45. It has 50 rounds through it. Its a good price I think. 600 with 200 rounds of ammo. No upgrades or ad ons but very nice. I have 2 m&P 40S and a 40 shield this just seems like a good buy

Love Kimbers, and 600 is a steal.

Yes. Get it. Those rounds are worth a bit too. I've had several Kimbers and I love them.

Internal or external extractor? If its external, the can be finicky.

Either way that is a good price with the ammo. Hard to beat a good 1911.

I agree 100%, ive had to deal w/ the external extractor issues with a kimber, and it sucks. I sold it abd bought an STI instead.

Mine has the external extractor. The only time I have issues with it is the initial slide pull to chamber a round. Just have to pull it back and let go from the furthest aft position. Not too big of a pain.

Kimbers are not very good. There are many that praise them but they have tons of issues. That being said it is a hit and miss thing. I was a FFL and gun smith so I would get it shoot 200 rnds of different ammo if it works keep it if not full blueprint and rebuild.

For 45 I collect Colt Gold cups. And even they need work. But at that price with ammo....
