I've been real happy with my Ruger SR9. And I do like the fact that ammo isn't too bad.

Although as soon as I bought it, I wanted a 1911... and a Ruger Mark III... and a CZ 75... and a XD 40... and, well you get the idea!!

I carry .40. Larger caliber and I only lose 2 rounds of capacity vs. 9mm (13 vs 15).

Buy one and then save up and buy the other.. never hurts to have a selection to choose from
I like the 40, i shoot competition with it and sometimes i break out the 1911 in 45 for the fun of it.

you could get the 9mm and start practicing with it, and then one day go get you a .40.

Having 2 .40s and a .45 i have no use for a 9mm since they all cost about the same to reload. can load 1000rds for $70 i think its $72 for 45acp and $68 for 9mm.

Don't you think that's a bit overkill?

To the OP, I would go with a .40 for home protection. If you get an XDm, there are kits for the .40 where you can run 9mm ammo, but not the other way around. Forget the company.

Guess you never shot a 40 mike mike at something...

im gonna have to look at that kit.. dont see how it would work very reliably since the 40 and 9 have a different base diameter.

Here is the link of the place. Don't know if they figured out the recoil spring problem yet. Let me know what you think.

For me, I don't think the cost would be warranted as I don't shoot enough as it is to drop to 9mm to save money on ammo.

gun on left is Glock 23 with lone wolf conversion barrel, I suggest doing this. You don't have to get compensated, they both were just good deals, and I wanted them. You can get regular and even threaded.

I love my Smith & Wesson M&P9 9mm. Holds 17+1. and Im hitting targets out to 75m with my reloads.
