Default .357 sig

I like the XDM guns, and was thinking of a .357 sig cause I dont have one, and I like the sound of a 357 mag in auto form.... Does the 357 sig version look like the 45, or 40 version? I can't seem to find one in .357 sig. I did see the .40 gun, with a drop in .357 sig barrel conversion. any thoughts? I am new to polymer guns.

You have to do the conversion barrel. That's a hot round but not really useful for anything but plinking imo.

so, thats why I can't find them? They made it in a xd, but not and xdm? I know they are not a selling gun due to the odd and higher priced round. most goverment agentcies carry a .357 sig due to the one shot stop. I thought it would be nice to add to my collection. I found barrel swaps, but I have not confermed if it is for the 5.25", which is what I like.

TXDPS started carrying it because of its ability to punch through windshields and car doors with ease. As a police officer carrying it, I can see it as a useful round. As someone who wants it just for fun, well its a novelty item. It might be good for hogs, iunno never tried it on them. I can see it being good for punching through them very nicely.

Its basically a 9mm being shot out of a 40sw brass thats necked down. Its a lil faster than the regular 9mm.
357sig ammo around here is silly expensive. Bout the same as 10mm ammo.

Mississippi highway patrol went from 40sw to 357sig also.

TXDPS is thinking about going to the S&W M&P .40cal.....some troopers say that it will and won't happen.....others say that the M&P pistol is unreliable. If they go to the .40cal of anything, I'll be in ammo heaven!!LOL!

I have heard that too. Do they make a drop in .357 barrel for a .40 xdm? It would be cool to have two guns in one, and swap the barrels out just to be able too.

Yes they do, but I have to ask why? It's a good round of you're going to be shooting through stuff but for a home defense round its a little hot and could be bad news for over-penetration. For LEOs I can see the allure but for the average Joe its expenaive to shoot and has no real benefits.

If it were me id either pick the 9 or 40 haha.
It kinda fills a gap that not too many people care bout. I have a ton of brass and one my buddys has a Sig in 357 so i load some for him.
For me personaly, id just go to a 40.

I actually carry a sig 229 in 357sig. Im a pretty big fan of the terminal ballistics that it offers vs a 9mm and the 45.
