My truck keeps overboosting, and i cant figure out why.

I'm gonna apply some psi to the wastegate tonight to see if its hanging up. but i dont think so, cause it moves pretty freely.

Its overboosting at WOT, around 14psi, any less throttle, and it runs fine.

The reason might be becuase i dont have a cat on it...

 

make sure you are getting a good signal to the wastegate.

 

Nah. With the cat removed, you should see a little LESS boost, since there's less restriction in the system without it. Are tuned for 14psi?

 

my wastegate is set for around 12psi. but my chip can read up to 17. more if i add meth injection.

i have no cat for performance... but i believe for turbos, a cat is used to protect from overboosting, so i think thats my problem.
