Why would you want to or need to run that much octane? Even when I was running forced induction 93 octane was sufficient.

Well ,since i bought my suv i am using 95 octane with stock tune and the car is fine so that i want to know if i swap to 98 ,will i get more hp with good tune.?

In my opinion, its doubtful that you would make more hp. More timing doesnt always equal more power and the reason I brought up timing is more octane will reduce the chance of detonation but each motor likes different amounts of timing. For example two weeks ago at the track I was running 28-30 degrees of timing at wot on my truck and then I dropped back to 26 and I was actually quicker on the next run.

Basically I just dont see the need to run that much octane if you can run a certain amount of timing on a lower octane without getting any knock and of course your AFR has to be right also.
