So here is my "opinion". In our Avalanche truck club, a lot of guys have went to Jesse for a mail order tune. Some have had good success and several have had issues, specifically high rpm starts, pinging even with 93 octane, and bad PCM's that cause erractic ses lights. The ones that have had good luck love the tune..the ones that don't, hate the tune... Simple as that.
The price Jesse charges is lower because he will not change certain parameters like AFR, and he will not tune a blown engine. He has turned several down in our club with blown engines.

I started with Allen and although I think Allen has his **** wired when it comes LS1/LS2/LS6 tunes, I would not consider myself a "groupie". I bought HP Tuners so I could tune myself. When you start investing the kind of money that I, and others, have invested in our trucks, a $500.00 tune from an experienced tuner is like buying insurance on your car. $500.00 is cheap when you have $10,000 to $20,000 worth of parts under your hood, and when you are at that level, Jesse is not to be found.... Allen on the other hand is.... Even though he has not had a hand in my tune for nearly six months, he is only a phone call or email away...

With all this said, each tuner has his own place in the market and both has decided what level of tuning they will give lifetime tunes on. Allen is more expensive because he does not limit you in how much power you can add. Jesse does. That is not a bad thing because a lot of guys will never build a radical ride and the Jesse tune will take them far... but when you start doubling your horsepower or install a serious power adder, it is time to step u to a "Big Boy" tune and you will want the Allen Nelson experience.

My two cents....Hold on a second while I put my flame suit back on.......
Man, I couldn't agree more. I am the exact same scenario as well.

Flabuoy, Jesse does change AFR, I have seen several of his tunes and they are really out of whack! Now the MAF is not changed. Same with PCMforless, maf and ve was left stock. Only timing and such was changed.

Chris... I was using info passed on from this post....

http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com...,61952.20.html

Z66 Butch set up a GTG with Jesse and some of our club memebers and Jesse mass tuned about 25 AV's at that gathering.... Some of the members had issues mentioned above and we have been slowly working through them here:

http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com...,61514.40.html

there is also a reference in there from Jesse about not doing a S/C application through email...I think that was to KY_Bob..

If I am in error I apologize, but I think Jesse was pretty specific with our members about what he would and would not do for the email or In person tune on their rides...

Jesus , showing support or stupidity ?
LET IT GO for Christ sakes .
I think the question from the very first was if you have a W4Me tune do you like it ? I do and I like it , again .
Might want to read what a person is asking ?

I would think most people will take you more seriously when you actually have a truck that can use a Nelson Tune....

They say Ignorance is bliss... You obviously prove that point....

I must say this is somewhat a good point but if you have that much $$$ in your ride why would you get a mail order tune? I see you got hptuners but in my opinion almost anyone who has that much work done should learn tuning themselves and by the full setup

What part of me owning HP Tuners and doing my own tuning did you miss...

I even stated he has not had a hand in my tuning for nearly 6 months....

I can still send him a log when I have issues I can't work through and he will review my tune and send me advice. This is through email.... and yes when he says lifetime tuning, he backs that up.... even when his first tune was on a puny 383 rwhp Avalanche.... Now that I am over 500 rwhp, his number has not changed....

I used him to teach me tuning prior to building my motor....and with that said, you don't learn to tune overnight, and you especially don't learn to tune a blown motor overnight. Allen is there when I need him just like PT.net, LS1trucks, HP Tuners forum, and my home truck club, CAFNA. Thanks to most of these guys all of my peices parts are still where they belong after nearly a year of asphalt pounding, tire hating, torque making bliss.....
