You don't have the 06 wiring harness???
Also you will need the 06 TCM too, I believe it was 06 when they split the ECM and TCM...in that case an 02 file would be useless, as the ECM held both tunes. I'm not 100% sure on this though...check into that.
But, If you have the wiring harness and both modules you can plop them in your truck...my buddy at work has done it to 3 trucks and a car now. 2 of the engines are late model 6.0L, 2 of them are 5.7L LS1. He did it to 2, 72 C10's an 80's firebird and an 80's pickup.

The 06 is dbw and I am going back to DBC with it and a harness from a 99-02. I believe this would easier than sticking with the 06 equipment because I whould have to change more things and prolly run into more issues. By the way I am still looking for an 99-02 drive by cable harness if anyone has one and preferably for a 4l80

I poked through the tune files for an 02 and an 06...not much difference really. Now the signals its actually looking for from the sensors may be very different. I am not sure how to write a new OS to your ECM though..you'll have to look up that one.
I love the simplicity of tuning the trans though....its like night and day between the 4 speed and the 6 speed.
