Default Tuning over another Guys Tune??

Can you tune over another performance shops tune?It may be just me,but I've called and called and never get through to someone on the phone. My emails never get replied. This is over a few weeks time period also. Are other people having troubles with reaching some of the top named tuners on these forums?

Anyways,I'm putting in a cam and hooking up E-fans.So I can't be waiting around another few weeks in hopes of someone answering a phone. And then a few more weeks to receive the tune....

As long as the tuner doesn't lock his tune, then yes you can tune over it.

Sponsors on here seem to have more business than they can handle at times.

Like mentioned, as long as the pcm is not tunerlocked you or anyone of your choice can tune over it.

Guess I'll have to have someone see if it's locked or not.Theres not a tuner around here the I know of.Hence the reason I ordered one.

I started to go with Justin. But I caught him in the middle of moving. So he was busy.No biggy.I decided to go with another tuner because mostly when I decide on something.Im impatient and want it now lol.The new tuner got it to me quick.I decided to make a few changes. So I called and gave them the list of changes.I was told the tune would be mailed in the next day or so.Sweet! After a week I'd call and ask for the tunes ups tracking number.Come to find out it never got mailed.Dang.So I'd repeat myself in the changes I wanted. It ended up being 4 weeks of that same thing over and over. Then they wouldn't answer their phones for days.Im sure their busy and have alotve customers. It just got frustrating....kindve like now. It's nothing personal.

I may have to eat that $300,and choose a different tuner.Just so I can count on customer service.Live and learn.I'm sure I'm that 1 time outve 10 than it's happened to.Like I said,it was a great tune!When I finally recieved it...

I'm done venting now haha.

I would never get a locked tune from someone. If you change something or want a retune then you are at their mercy. I wish there was someone around here that could tune in person. If you can't get a tune in person I would suggest Wheatley.

And I understand why they lock a tune. I wouldnt want all of my hard work to be given away to someone either.

There are a couple of shops in CA. Since he doesn't want to give an exact location then I throw this one out.
Synergy Motorsports
37401 Joseph St
Fremont, Ca 94536

I think Trever1t uses them. Anyway, I've driven anywhere from 2-6 hours to get a proper dyno tune on my vehicles. Mail order tunes are fine and they get the job done, but if you want it dialed it exact you need to be in person for a street/dyno tune.

I understand you frustration with not getting through and not having email/calls returned. I am having the same problem. Of the many shops I called, Wheatley and Justin @ Balckbear are the only 2 that responded. So one of them will get my business for a startup tune, then I'm off to TX Speed for a dyno tune
