tuning for higher stall torque converter
I'll be adding my 3000 stall converter either this weekend or next. I dont have it currently included in my tune. What all needs to change in the tune for the converter??? lock up speed? I dont really know.
will it hurt to run it without it in the tune for a while? I dont want to send it back for a re-tune right now... probably ever, I will be getting it dyno tuned before too long anyway.

I had the same quesion for the Nelson guys, i was told that the lock speed would be the only thing that would be changed in the tune....
I have a Fuddle 3k that I need to install also, but have not had the time to get-r-done...

I raised the shiftpoints a hair on mine, maybe like 5-6%. Also you will want higher lockup speeds. Mine is only a 2500 stall though. I also set the shift lock to disabled.

You'll be fine dude.....you'll want to raise your rev-limiter slightly to compensate for the looser stall (I've seen higher-stall TC's flare 100-200rpm at the shift sometimes), and firm up your shifts a little. There's not much else to "tune" in the tranny. Lock speed should be able to remain the same but you may need to play around with it to get it "right for you"
You can raise spark and lean PE out a little below the stall speed if you want to, it'll make the engine a little more free-reving below the stall speed when you stand on it
