just a quick question. If I don't have my VE table nailed down and I have my MAF disabled will that hurt my engine?

I say this because I was working on logging my stft's and I disabled my MAF, then drove on a 150 mile trip with it still turned off.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I use HPT, so i dunno about the efi live stuff. I am going to keep him in closed loop and just run max timing on 87 if he wants. I was thinking playing with the tcc lockup a bit. I will also take a look at DFCO. As long as he really stays out of it, he is going to get good mpg, especially if he goes with the 3.42 gears. I'll let you guys know how it goes when we are done.

As long as you are in closed loop and your O2 sensors are good, the PCM will keep you at 14.7 when not in power enrichment. If you didn't make any huge changes to your PE table, you should be good (safe) there.

As long as you're not really leaning out at heavy throttle, you're fine.

I think it worked out well. We were able to get some more low end timing out of it and worked on touching up the VE table. Changed some other things and just waiting to see how it turns out.

Do you have the MPG PID? That can be a really handy tool when tuning for economy. One of you drive and the other watch that PID under different conditions.

PM me if you need it.
Have fun!!
