I know that there are people using tunercat. What are some of yalls thought on it? And anything that you found out to make tuning with it a little easier?

Cool

I am interested in this as well. Any input anyone?

southern_chevy, I know that Hog and Zippy have experience with TunerCat. You can search on some of their posts or PM them for more information. Maybe they will see this and post up.

Your biggest problem is going to be no scanner. I have vehicle licenses with TC and HPT, so I use the HPT scanner. All the tables are in TC that are in the other tuners so changing the values in the tables is no different than changng them using any other tuner program. Knowing what to change the values to doesn't have much to do with which tuner program you are using, just knowlege on how to tune in general.

How much does tunercat cost with the scanner and all? Is it any cheaper than HPT?

They have been promising that scanner for over a year now, are they really going to get it out anytime soon? I haven't looked in to it recently.

TC does not come with a scanner and I do not think they plan on adding one. I believe the MXScan talked about is being developed by a separate entity. What I read on the Monodax forum is it's still a ways from being finished. You can go to TC web site to find out about pricing.

Cool

Thanks guys for the information.

I have AutoEnginuity so that at least partially covers the scanning/logging concern.

The TunerCat OBDII Tuner Package is $300 and you require a definition file + OBDII Definition File $79.95 = $379.95 plus $10 for shipping. The definition file allows you to tune any vehicle from that model and year. The OBD2_04 for example covers 2003 - 05 LS1 Trucks (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 8.1L). That is a lot of vehicles.
