Trans tuning questions for an '09 - which programmer to get?
#1
If I wanted to mess with trans shift points and feel tuning, TCC lock up speeds, bigger tire speedo calibration... on an 09 Silverado - what would be some recommendations for a programmer?
I also need to turn off AFM.
Plus it would be an added bonus if I could use the same unit on a '10 Camaro down the road.
HP Tuners, Diablosport, EFI live...
Something middle of the road complicated/skills wise. I'm pretty good with table based tunes. If anyone is familiar with Harley's Screamin Eagle Race Tuner, I've done a lot of tinkering with that - which is just basic map tables you tinker with.
Thanks for any suggestions.

HP tuners or EFI live are really your only choices for what you want to do. Most handhelds tend to be limited to a single model and year of vehicle. Besides you'll have a ton more options with the software.
As far as how complicated it is, you will definitely have a lot of reading to do to get started, but there are a lot of people that will help you out with question. The newer vehicles are also getting more complicated in how they deal with calcualtions and have started doing away with standard VE tables in favor of a more complex model. It is still possible to work with though and there is even a free little program on the HP Tuners board to deal with tuning the virtual VE tables.
Also don't forget the wideband O2 sensor as it will be helpful for dialing in the fueling.

EFILive will do everything you are looking to do on both vehicles. Plus the PCM and TCM are included in 1 vehicle licenses, you don't have to license them separately.
You can download the full version of the software from here and play with it so you can see how it is laid out. It will operate in Demo mode until it is registered.
Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

I am familiar with both hptuners and efilive and to be honest I find them both pretty user friendly and easy to navigate around. It is pretty much just going to come down to you taking a look and downloading the demo versions and seeing which one you like better basically IMO.
