tow haul *** is a sales gimic from what i understand. all you can do is change the shift points with that button...nelson can do that for you if you really want but why not have it there all the time?

sales gimic? lol OKAY
Hptuners has tuning for it as well... and like hrodgmc said, it tunes for way more than just shift points, the reason why you would have it not be in this mode all the time is for economy purposes.

Yeah there is no way in hell I'd drive in that mode all the time.
My shift point are way up there in tow/haul *** mode. The thing about mine(I dont know how true this is for everybody) it wont shift no matter if im WOT or just a little on the gas until it reaches that certain rpm. I tried it for the first time and I thought it would shift if i let off but nope.

tow/haul *** mode is a sales gimic, just like "3d mapping" in a westers tune.
The only thing you can change on that button is the transmission tables and torque management for the tranny, it has nothing to do with the engine parameters. You can adjust shift speed, rpm, firmness, and torque converter properties. So all this hauling *** mode is causing you to do is shift at values more optimum for racing.

Tow haul *** is a gimik like stated above. With the tow/ haul on you have tables that you can make adjustments to (performance mode) in the tuner, line pressure, shift speed,WOT shift speed, shift times TQ managment and more. You can have more TQ managment with the tow haul off bit less or no TQ managment with it on,or the other way around, there are 2 tables, normal mode and performance mode and performance is tow/haul in the tuner.
