Sorry to start up an old thread but I just got this and am having some trouble getting it to work. When i start the app all of the icons in the top left corner of the screen are blue but the vehicle icon flashes and says that it is not connected to the ecu. I have everything pluged in and the key on so why isnt this working? maybe a bad bluetooth connector?

Are all the lights flashing on the Bluetooth adapter? Make sure your Bluetooth is on non your phone obviously.

When it is on it will have 4 icons. Wait till the last icon quits flashing then try it. Some vehicles have to have key on and others don't. Also like mentioned make sure your bluetooth is on or set it up to come on when device is connected. What obd piece did you go with. I bought mine off of ebay and it is blue and I think the name is Vgate. I have heard of some other brands not working. Good luck its a cool lil gadget

If it is connected to the phone and it is not working, open the program. Go under settings, then OBD2 adapter settings, and make sure everything looks like it is setup right.

Mine isn't working either. I got the same module that was linked too earlier in this thread. It seams that the Torque program is connecting to the bluetooth in my truck instead of the OBD adapter. It says it's connected but it can't see the ECM. I haven't figured out how to force it to see the OBD adapter instead of connecting to the other bluetooth connection in the truck. And I don't know how to disable the standard bluetooth in the truck, it's on all the time. I'll try to connect with my laptop to rule out the adapter being bad.

If you are using the ELM327 (as I am) in the main screen hit menu>settings>OBD2 adapter settings.

Untick faster communication. For some reason I need this unticked to work properly.

Thanks for the tip. I figured out what was up, I needed to connect with the main settings of the phone instead of inside the torque app.

My faster communication is turned on and it works fine, but I didn't notice any difference in speed with it on or off.
