Watch this video. I messed around with the settings and changed the name to just Trans, and it seemed to work.

The scan tool apps such as the one in this thread are pretty cool even if you've got tuning software yourself such as Hptuners or Efilive these are still nice handy little apps to have. For I Phone users the DashCommand scan tool app is pretty decent as well.

I have confirmed that the trans temp is accurate with my Flashscan. Here is what worked for me on my 99 Silverado.
Go to:
Menu
Settings
Manage Extra PID's/Sensors
Transmission Fluid Temperature (GM Method 1)
Select edit, and make sure all values and names match this.
Name:  Screenshot_2012-10-17-16-34-48.png
Views: 523
Size:  655.9 KB
The go to:
Real time data
Add display
Transmission Fluid Temperature (GM Method 1) should now be highlighted in green
Select it

It now works great! I am very excited. I can't wait to throw a trailer behind the truck tomorrow and make sure it doesn't get hot!

Probably not because the iphone sucks. haha

I thought someone posted about an iphone app nearly identical.Quickly looked in this thread and didn't see it. Not sure where I saw it.
