Default Throttle body question

Fixing to 6.0 swap my 06 silverado. Using a tbss intake with a 90mm throttle body. Which one do i need to use the gold blade or silver blade one? They open different ways and was told it could possibly lock up the computer. Anyone heard of this?

They will both work, with an adapter.

Which throttle body did you end up using? Gold blade or Silver blade, and how did it work? I heard the same thing about one opening the wrong way. I picked up a silver blade part# 12570790, it does open the opposite way that the 87mm one I have from a TBSS does. I have not tested it yet to see if it works, I need to get a X- link first.

The adapter you are talking about, is it the X-Link?

Silver will open slightly less. Most use gold now.

Ok thanks for the info on that. So I should look for a gold blade throttle body and get rid of the silver blade TB . Do you have a part # for the gold blade TB I should look for? Thanks again I really appreciate it.

Most use gold because you can get them new on eBay for around $150. The silver are more rare and usually go for at least double that. No reason not to use the silver. I think the silver may be a little more stable electronically based on my testing.
