Default Sup fellas its been awhile since ive been on here.. quick ?

I put my truck to semi stock except for bolt ons and the shop who had put my 408 in my truck locked the pcm.. so now im back to a 5.3ltr and i swapped pcm cause me and buddy did the work this time and didnt want to cause problems running a 408 stroker tune on a stock motor...so anyways im lookin for a mail order tune and was thinkin of going with blackbear ... any one have good feed back? Or even frost tune..

Mods are long tube headers.. true dual with x pipe.. bullets.. cai.. maf comb delete.. 2800stall. 3:73 gears.

I used Black Bear in the past for a mail order tune...no issues, Justin knows what he's doing. Nelson is a reputable vendor as well. Currently, I have Alvin @ PCM of NC do all of my tuning (live, stop and mail in for small changes) and am quite happy with the quality.

Blackbear is good.

I'm in Pleasanton and can do a quick street tune for you. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

I do remote tuning and am also a dealer for HPTuners if you are interested in picking up your own interface. Stock internals with bolt ons with me for unlimited retunes (and no locking) would be $250. I can usually have updates back to you the same day and definitely within 24hours.

The TCM is programmed through the PCM or ECM as some like to call it.

Anything from 99-07 classic has no TCM anyway. 07-13 do and 14+ do but it's external on the fire wall instead of inside the transmission on the 8 speeds.

So as far as I know if you had a TCM, the computer would have to programmed in the vehicle to make transmission changes because it needs the TCM present to apply the changes. The 6L80e for example as the TCM on the valve body.
