Default Stock truck--Whats the speed limiter

On my 99 Sierra, the speed limiter was set at 98 mph. Can't remember on my 04 GMC crew cab. But on the way to work this morning in my 06 Z71, I got it up to about 101 or 102, just wondering what the stock parameters are.

Hey man, it's weird and I don't understand the variables that go into the govenor formula, but some trucks will shut off at 94 MPH, most at 99 MPH. and most recently....my buddy's SS truck shut off at 104 MPH.

Kinda crazy.

Well, it actually never shut off either, I just let off the gas about 102 mph. And the speedo better not be off, its a 2 month old truck, no mods but a true flow drop in filter and for right now a corsa sport muffler, just waiting for my hooker to come in. lol

Hmmm....pretty interesting that you are running such a low RPM at that kind of speed.

I think all speedo's are conservative. My 95 truck speedo reads 2 mph faster than the WinALDL software shows speed on my laptop. My 05 reads 2 mph faster than my Aeroforce scan gauge which takes the readings right out of the diagnostic port as well.
Those references were at around 70mph. I am unsure if it is 2 mph across the board.

and i thought there was a little rubber pin that stopps the needle from going past 120? thats how both of my speedometers on my trucks were, but i never had the factory 120 guages. only the 100 and escelade.
