Default Starting issues

Ok so I just swapped in my new motor I unplugged everything but the starter I just let it hang down instead of disconnecting it well I put everything together and I get nothing when I go to start it also notice that my radio powers off and on on it's own anyone have had these issues before Could it just be the battery ?

Ground is loose.

Battery negative to engine, engine to terminal on firewall, battery negative to starter. Just check all your connections. Your radio turning off is a warning for a loose ground. The starter pulls all available current through another, smaller ground that isn't meant to handle the current to turn the engine over.
