Yes, I have used the search function and read all the applicable threads lol.
I have a 2000 RCSB 1500 with a continuously flashing airbag light. The vehicle was in a collision and the airbags were deployed before I bought it. I have taken many steps to get the SRS functioning, but I am at a loss and looking for some expert advice.
Steps taken in order:
1. Replaced impact sensor and reset crash module through safety restore.
2. Replaced driver airbag.
3. Replaced passenger airbag.
I drove it for a while not knowing the passenger bag was deployed. The previous owner repacked it and replaced the cover. I assumed the discriminator switch kept it from deploying. Before replacing the passenger, the SRS light would flash 7 times on startup and then constantly stay illuminated. After replacement, it flashes 7 times on startup, then continuously flashes.
4. Scanned the SRS for codes…no communication. All other scanner functions work on this vehicle and all functions work on my jeep and ram.
5. chased all wires for shorts and breaks, ohm tested all fuses and the clock spring. No issues.
6. Swapped in a Tahoe crash module to see if the restored one was not functioning… still no communication.
Over the weekend I threw a few more parts at it, all from the local pick and pull.
I replaced the clock spring, passenger override switch and the crash module. Still no communication. The only change is with the airbag light. With the old module, constant flash. With the new(used), it’s always on.
The scanner can perform all functions on the Silverado except the SRS. I don’t know anyone with a similar vehicle, but like I said, everything works on my other two vehicles. 🤷

You still need to rule it out on a similar vehicle by checking it's function. I sold my 2000 a few years back but I know the communication on some of the stuff was different between the 99-02 and the 03-07 classic. There were even minor differences in the 99-00 to the 01-02 trucks software. This is also why I asked if it communicated with the engine side.
I have seen a few videos of the light flashing 7-8 times when you first turn the truck on. This appears to be a normal system's check. But if it stays on solid or is continuously flashing after that, there is an issue. I remember on my truck the passenger side switch was faulty in the ON position but if you put it in to the OFF position it worked normally.
With out the codes, It's just a guess as to what's wrong. I don't know how bad the accident was. If there was any pinched wires or anything that was removed, I would go back over all the connections. Check for bent pins or loose connections. Including the belt buckle. They have sensor to see if the belt is plugged in or not. some times those have to be replaced as well.
Other wise see if you can find some one in your area that specializes in this.
