its cheap cause theres not very many people that do a v6-v8 swap and when they do they usually always go with at least a 5.3, and then theres the people with the 4.8 and why would they wana swap out their 4.8 for another 4.8? (unless theirs is done in) so there's not resale market for it like the 5.3's and the 6.0's....
If you ever decide to upgrade, Id be interested in your cam

I have automatic. 2006 crew cab w/ 36,100 miles on it! I just can't get this thing to get up and go, lots of hesitation when I step on it, and hesitation when in the higher rpms as well.

i have a cammed 4.8 with a few other bolt ons and it runs ok, but it wouldve ran better if i wouldve just bought a 6.0. i plan on boosting the **** out of my 4.8 after i get everything built up and by the time i trash my 4.8 i'll have a 6.0 built up waiting to go in....

Ouch, a CC with a 4.8, thats like a cruise ship with a bass boat engine. Im gonna have to side with GS7793 on this one. 6.0 or 6.2 would be the way to go. At the very least a blower or Turbo.

Gees man, the 4.8 makes damn near the same hp as the 5.3. It falls short on torque for sure, with the right converter you can run right with the 5.3 guys. Sure it wont make the power a 6.0 will but it can be modded to run much much better.

Well any engine can be modified to run better. However, I'm thinking this thread is more of a sheer Torque deal.

They make a CC with a 4.8? Why . No wonder it's a slug.

Alright, I know it's a slug, but it looks real pretty and has enough room for the family and pulls the boat fine. I'm just sick of flooring it to keep up with everyone else on the road (I live in Miami). What will give me some immediate torque, that I will feel in lower rpms, program tune or is there something better? Besides a 6.0 or a supercharger.
