Service Engine but no code?

Default Service Engine but no code?
Its a 03 5.3 well maintained stock..light came on went to couple stores to have it checked but no code at all.Does anyone know what could cause this?any help would be appreciated..

is it on steady or does it flash? No history codes either?

It stays steady and no past code history..might it be a fuse causing it? I already checked the gas cap n it's good

Might not be a Pxxx code, what kind of scanners are they using? (I'm assuming cheap ones?)

Yea cheap ones at autozone..but it's 100 at chevy dealer juz for them to check it out

Could be a short in the ciruit to the check engine light...
