Yeah up to 05 they were SD and 06+ is MAF, I know my 05 has 4 VE tables and 4 Spark tables! PE is based on ECT and there is a PE multiplier that is based on engine RPM.......it's definitly a little different to tune, I have been working on mine for a month and a half and still haven't figured the VVT out.

Reading around on hpt and efi it seems most people changing their TB tunes are getting 2MPG no matter what. Seems you(rhino) have a pretty common handle on the TB, trans and tq mng puts alot of power back on the table. In stock form flooring it from a dig, you can feel the power being pulled. That's cool how much you have been working on it, exactly why I posted this thread, to see who is tearing into these I6 motors as far as tuning goes.

Wilde, you know better than that. I can never leave well enough alone.

and 1slow, by not scanning it anymore.

That is really interesting, i was wondering why the MAF was reading nothing. Why did GM change it to MAF in 06+?

Dunno exactly why but the 06+ are 290 hp I believe vs. the 275hp for the 02-05's.

Yeah, tq mgt and shift points helped mine a lot because of my 3.42's, my shift extensions were horrible. They arent great now, but the additional 300-400 rpms before shift helps keep the rpms up better.
