Default safe to remove tq management?

Bought a used 03 5.3L 100% stock. Plans are headers exhaust CAI and tune.

How long typically from your experiences does the stock 4L60e last with all tq management removed?

My single cab 5.3L has 50% tq management and it is kinda boggy at half throttle from 1800-2500ish rpms, is this the tq management holding it back?

You can turn it all off, you won't really save the transmission any strain unless you're running big power through it at high RPM.

Either 0% or 100% nothing in between.

What's considered big power for a 60e? 300rw or 400rw

I don't do burnouts or dounts so that saves the transmission life, but I do love flooring it from a stop or 20/30punch.

0%-100% does this mean there is only two options when tuning it, or what needs to be done to tune. I ask this b/c I hope my tuner did not lie to me and keep 100% on

Pull it all out. I see no sense in modding an engine to make more power, then turning it back down to save the transmission, IMO.

Big power generally means forced induction. TM will slightly extend the life of a 60E in this circumstance, N/A you're not giving it enough extra life to be worth the torque loss.

0-100% is a full range. There's no point in putting 50% TM in a 60E other than to make the shifts funky and waste power. You're getting no benefit to the transmission where it counts and taking a big power hit.

If you like flooring it from a roll, all TM does is yank out all your timing while the transmission attempts to shift, then slowly feeds it back. Increasing the HP output serves no purpose when this happens.

Damn guys........Great job with the answers! I had no idea it pulled timing before shifts, this would make sense as to why my truck is such a dog after the 1-2 shift from about 50-65, then it comes back to life.

Never again will I have tq management. The single cab in the description just got a new heavier duty 4L60e last week, so I was planning on taking it off anyways, but yall answered the question about my stock 4L60e.

Thanks!
