Running Lean!!!!!
#71
Good read haha. What about a truck 6.0l with a fairly small cam for the motor size but has wcch stage ii 317's but is running dynatechs so it's a 2.5exhaust from the headers back.....?how much timing then and how much power ya think is lost in the 2.5 from y-pipe back?

Yes I did. It's how you did it and the demeanor at which you were trying to prove a point on how much timing to run. All of this Lance and king thing was to try and make you look good and someone like myself and others that run more than 29* of timing look like they don't know what there're talking about.

I did nothing different than AP, he was trying to make everyone look good that was running high timing, I was trying to make a point and I did. Lances truck runs less timing than all the others, and there is not a cam only truck that ran quicker than his. That was my point. I wasn't trying to say you didn't know what you were talking about, once again I said in an earlier post that I didn't know you were on race gas, so the higher timing mad a little more sense to me.
So rhino79 is there anything you can bring to the table to help him as to why he is lean??

After reading this thread, do you really want a opinion??? After this thread, it depends on the flow of the heads, CR, how many inches is the engine, cam specs, fuel type, converter, gears, intake set-up, injectors size.....I'll think of some other things to add......And as far as power, stay in the neighborhood of 26*-29* total timing. I'm gonna run 33*+ if I have to. After all of the above stated is figured out........I don't know how much you're going to make.

I know for a fact my truck before the heads at 28* was soso then got it tuned at 33.5* and it was a monster in comparison.
I'm really just wondering how much the y-pipe being a 2.5 on back would be hurting the truck honestly.Oh yeah i do gots me some of dem worked heads hehe.

Whats the injector duty cycle running at?
Isn't it common for the idc to go crazy high if the pump can't flow the fuel?
If it's not goin up then the pump shoudn't be the issue just a tune issue....?
