Default replacing HVAC actuator that controls drivers side heat/air

I got a replacement because mine burned out. Having only heat blowing on the passenger side SUCKS in the winter!!

Anyways, how do I go about installing it?? All I know is that its under the dash area on the passenger side.

Driver's side actuator is on the bottom of the HVAC case. Removed the passenger's side close out panel. The actuator is on the bottom of the case next to the tunnel. Remove two 5.5mm screws and electrical connector and remove.

Isn't there some sort of calibration too?

Yeah there is a recalibrate you can do by unhooking battery or with a tech 2.
I would just put it on and try to see if it will work right without doing that. Alot of times when you recalibrate the actuators you will find out the other ones will crap out too. I've put them on countless times and did the recalibrate with the tech 2 and another actuator will quit working.

Plastic panel that covers up the blower motor and hvac box. You may not have it. The more equipped trucks had it but work trucks did not.

Mine is an LS package, not a WT. I'd love to get this in tonight, but need to know a little more than remove the panel. Do i have to remove other panels to get to it? Which panel is it exactly? I'm an interior newb

Here ya go!

Basically, you unscrew 4 small screws that hold on that black plastic cover under the dash on the passenger side. Once its unscrewed just pull it off. The actuator motor thingy is below about where the ash tray as. Unplug the connection, take out 2 small screws, replace the motor thingy, then screw everything back in like it was.

Member on here is parting out his truck, he may have one more actuator motor thing.

never thought i'd be helping you, its usually the other way around!
