Security Code Reset
The answer for the security code reset works perfect. I have an 06 GMC Sierra Crew Cab with a 4.8 replace the transmission and the steering column truck was cranking fine with the old one put the new one in wasn't cranking read this forum did the security code reset truck runs perfectly. Thanks for the info hope all you Chevy lovers out there are keeping it real!

Agree with Grumpy, but it doesn't need to be done at the dealer. Takes about 45 minutes to do it.
Attempt to start, when it fails, leave the key in the run position for 11-12 minutes (til the security light goes off).
Turn off for 30-45 seconds.
Repeat first step.
On the 4th attempt of this process, it should fire up.
