2000 Truck won't start :-(
#1
Well it started normally this morning when I moved it across the parking lot. Now it will fire once or twice and then seems to kill itself and will just turn over. Seems like a security thing maybe. Fuel pressure is fine. I let it sit for 15 minutes like an old thread said, but it did the same thing. Someone please give me some ideas.
Oh yeah, I scanned it with HPTuners and no security codes showed up.

Do I need to disconnect the battery or what? I have a friend on the way with some vise grips so I can try it. Please let me know what to do. I just removed my remote start system a couple of days ago so maybe the security system just noticed something different and kicked in.

Try the security relearn.
Crank it. The engine should fire up and then die. Keep the key in the on position. The security light will flash for roughly 10 minutes. Then turn the key to the off position for 30 seconds. Start it again, it should die. repeat the procedure 2 more times. On the 4th start attempt it should start and idle.

Alright, to get the security light to flash, I had to move the key just slightly back from the "run" position. It stopped after about 15 minutes, so I'll repeat a couple more times and see what happens

Well after waiting 25 minutes, the security light never stopped flashing so I give up for now. :-(
I have a feeling it has something to do with passlock. I had it bypassed for years while the remote starter was hooked up, and I just removed it all 3 days ago. Is there a sensor in my key on a 2000NBS? The key is pretty worn, could that affect it? If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Yea it runs for less than a second and dies. I have no idea why the security light is not flashing with the key in 'run' like it is supposed to. When I turned the key back slightly, it would flash, but didnt stop after 10 minutes. After 25 minutes of still flashing, I just gave up. Any ideas?
And thanks for all of the replies. I hope this thread helps others in the future who run into this.
From some other threads I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised if I go out tomorrow morning and it starts right up.
