Default Is removing all TM safe?

I'm planning on getting a Wait4Me tune here shortly and I was wondering; if I normally don't abuse my truck then under just normal driving conditions how could removing all TM do any harm?

What I understand is that there are two different types of TM; engine and transmission. And engine TM retards timing and tranny TM is there to reduce transmission abuse. Correct? Why then wouldn't you ALWAYS remove 100% engine TM and leave say 20% on the tranny just to save it from abuse? In what case is it necessary to leave any engine TM?

Thanks guys.

100% is bad news on a stock transmission. I would stay safe and leave at least 20% unless you buy a shift kit or something to help out.

I've been reading old posts some and the consensus seems to be for removing 80% of both. Yes?

70% is a good setting on a stock trans.

Rule of thumb, the more weight, drive axles, the more TM to keep. RCSB two wheel drive at one end of the spectrum--keep 20%. The other side would be a All Wheel drive Denali where you might need 40% TM for saftey. Also, HP and driving conditions make a major difference.

Yes, I've also heard removing 100% engine TM is a plus! But unless you upgrade the tranny you shouldn't remove all TM from a stock tranny! Like wise 70-80% removal of stock tranny should work!

i recomend removing it all. if your trans can't take it you need another trans. why bother trying to add hp just to let the computer pull power away.
