The heated sensors are so they will warm up and respond faster, not to light the cats off faster.
KB, thanks for catching that. I was extremely tired when I typed that. I just reread his & mine. Oops. As in 8 possible causes?

Maybe I worded about heated o2 poorly. Faster warm up & response sounds better. But isn't the byproduct of a quicker warmup/ response, that cats light off faster? Or no, it just allows it to go into closed loop quicker? And if something goes closed loop, does that guarantee better mileage?
Please correct me on any misunderstanding I may have; I don't tune stuff on any regular basis, so how I word or interpret isn't the best. KB or anybody, set me straight.

I meant there is 8 O2 codes to shut off for the rear O2's. They're heated so it can get into closed loop faster for the best emissions. Mileage is actually beater with open loop, lean mixture, but emissions aren't as good. Closed loop mileage will be good to.

Thanks for great explanation! I guess KB knows his stuff. Know any reason(s) what's possible causes? I took a few guesses in some of my previous posts. Thoughts, KB? Don't everyone jump at once. Others can provide valuable info too. Anybody?
